Proud to Bleed

“Proud to Bleed” is not just an initiative but a life-changing experience for the women in the slums of Delhi. Under this campaign, our volunteers have visited various slum areas in Delhi to spread awareness about Menstrual Hygiene and the significance of using sanitary napkins among adolescent girls and women.

The Foundation is providing awareness sessions and sanitary napkins to the underprivileged women at a much lower price than what they would usually find in the market. Thus, the objective is to make sanitary napkins more affordable and available at their doorstep.

Out of the 355 million reproductive-age women and girls in India, only 12 percent use sanitary pads during their periods. Therefore, low-cost sanitary napkins will be provided to women and especially girls studying in schools to solve this issue in society. Most poor or illiterate girls don’t know about sanitary napkins and they end up using rags and ashes. Moreover, they cease to going to school when they start menstruating.
